Request account deletion

ShuttleSync Driver mobile app

You have the right to request deletion of your ShuttleSync Driver account and the personal information we hold about you. This page explains how to make that request, what is deleted, and what we are obliged to retain.

How to submit a request

Send an email to privacy@shuttlesync.app from the email address registered to your driver account, including:

  • Your driver account email
  • The name of your employer (the Tenant on the ShuttleSync platform)
  • (Optional) a reason for the request

We will acknowledge your request within 7 business days and complete the deletion (or explain any retention obligations that apply) within 30 days.

What gets deleted

  • Your account profile (name, email, phone, employee identifier)
  • Your driver record on the ShuttleSync platform
  • All location ping history attributed to your account
  • All registered mobile device tokens for push notifications
  • Any in-app activity logs and crash diagnostics associated with you

What we may retain

Some information must be retained for legal, tax, or dispute-resolution reasons even after a deletion request:

  • Trip and booking records are retained for 7 years to comply with the record-keeping requirements of the South African Revenue Service (SARS). Where possible, your name and contact details on these records are pseudonymised once your account is closed.
  • Aggregate, de-identified data (for example, statistics about total trips completed per tenant) may be retained indefinitely because it cannot be linked back to you.
  • Information required by a court order or regulator will be retained for as long as legally required.

Important note for employed drivers

Your driver account is created by your employer (the Tenant). If you are still employed by them and want to keep working, deleting your account will prevent you from using the app. Speak to your employer first if you only want to update or correct your information — account deletion is a permanent action.
